About us
A Century of Growing Together — Gatewood Vegetable Farm & Greenhouses
Some things are worth doing for a hundred years. For the Gatewood family, growing fresh, wholesome produce for our Indiana neighbors is one of them.
Our Story: Rooted in Indiana Since 1922
Gatewood Vegetable Farm & Greenhouses was founded in 1922 by James Gatewood, who started with a modest orchard and hatchery on the rolling land of Noblesville, Indiana. What began as a small family operation grew — season by season, generation by generation — into one of the region’s most trusted farm-fresh destinations.
Today, the farm is proudly run by Bruce Gatewood, James’s grandson, who carries forward the same values that have guided this land for over a century: honest work, quality produce, and a deep commitment to the community we call home.
Farm-Fresh, Locally Grown — The Gatewood Way
At our Noblesville farm, we believe you should know where your food comes from. That’s why we grow what we can right here on our property and partner with trusted local Indiana farms to bring you the freshest seasonal produce available. From vine-ripened tomatoes to sweet corn, every item is selected with care and brought to you at peak freshness.
Our large on-site greenhouse allows us to extend the growing season and offer a wider variety of plants, seedlings, and produce — so you can enjoy Indiana-grown goodness from early spring through late fall.
More Than a Farm
We’re proud to be a gathering place for families across Noblesville, Cicero, Arcadia, Westfield, and the surrounding communities. Whether you’re stopping in for fresh vegetables, bulk mulch for your garden, or browsing our curated selection of LuxCraft outdoor furniture, you’ll always find a warm welcome at Gatewood.
We’re more than a place to shop — we’re a piece of Indiana’s agricultural heritage, and we’re honored to share that with you.

Over A Century of Family Tradition
Gatewood Vegetable Farm & Greenhouses has proudly served the Noblesville community for over 100 years. Founded by James Gatewood with a small orchard and hatchery, the farm has grown through four generations of family leadership. Today, Bruce Gatewood, alongside his mother Nancy, wife Chelse, and sister Kelli Balke, continues the legacy of quality, service, and community connection.
Our Story
From humble beginnings selling chickens, eggs, and apple cider, Gatewood Vegetable Farm evolved to offer locally grown fruits, vegetables, and more. Bruce’s grandfather and father expanded the business and relocated it to its current home at 9555 E. 206th St., Noblesville, IN. Today, the farm features a large greenhouse and a carefully curated selection of goods from local Indiana farms.
Award-Winning Legacy
In 2022, we received the Governor’s Century Business Award, honoring a century of service, resilience, and lasting impact on Indiana’s economy.
